What other people will see

  • Always: your nickname, your home country and region and your province in the Netherlands.
  • Only if you tick it: your home town, your municipality, how long you have been here, your age, sector, reason, interests, your story (after moderation) and your Instagram.
  • Never: your email, your phone number, your address or your location. Your profile is only visible to people with a Ruta NL account.

What it is

  • A map of the Spanish-speaking community in the Netherlands: which countries and regions we come from and which provinces we live in.
  • Whether you come from Málaga, Bogotá, Caracas, Buenos Aires, Lima or anywhere else, your journey counts.
  • Real figures are shown on the live map, always grouped: nothing until there are at least 20 participants and never groups of fewer than 5.

How to take part

  1. Create your free Ruta NL account and confirm your email.
  2. Tell us your home country and region and your municipality or province in the Netherlands.
  3. Choose what is shown and authorise appearing on the map. You can change it or withdraw whenever you want.
  4. If you like, introduce yourself in the community and meet Spanish speakers in your area.

Your privacy comes first

No GPS, no addresses and no postcodes. The public map only shows grouped figures; your email and phone number are never shown. Your profile only appears if you authorise it, with the details you choose and only to people with an account.
